James McKnight
About me
I bring a wealth of real-world experience to my work as a therapist, having spent many years supporting people through challenging and often traumatic situations. My background includes an extensive career in policing, where I developed a deep understanding of human resilience, crisis management, and the complexities of life’s struggles.
I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and integrative therapy, allowing me to adapt my approach to each individual’s unique needs. My aim is to create a safe, compassionate space where we can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace.
I’m also a strong believer in the benefits of nature for emotional well-being. For clients who find it helpful, I offer walking therapy sessions; combining movement, fresh air, and conversation to encourage openness and reflection in a more relaxed environment.
Whether in the therapy room or in the great outdoors, my focus is on helping you move forward with clarity, confidence, and a renewed sense of self.
